New arts commission - Rugby Art Gallery & Museum
Recent art brief - open call for artists

Women in sport
From 22 August to the 27 September this year, England is hosting the Women’s Rugby World Cup. To celebrate, we are inviting artists to submit an expression of interest and outline proposals for the redesign of a rugby ball public art sculpture.
The sculpture currently stands outside Rugby railway station. We are inviting an artist to redesign the giant rugby ball surface decoration. Designs should reflect and celebrate local women in sport, in Rugby football and beyond, while welcoming visitors to the birthplace of the game.
Rugby Borough Council can provide workshop space if required and arrange transport, logistics and installation of the sculpture.
