Mini Rugby Mural - Call out for Artists

About Mini Rugby

Mini Rugby was a well-loved play area within the Local History Museum. It was specially developed for our younger visitors. It was so popular in fact that it became tired and sadly we had to pack it away.

A bigger and better Mini Rugby

However, this Autumn we are bringing it back, bigger and better than ever before and we need your help.

We are seeking an artist to create a mural as the backdrop to the new heritage-based children’s interactive area in the museum.

Mural Theme

The focus will be on Rugby’s changing landscape throughout history and will cover four key areas of Rugby's history.

  • Romans
  • Victorians
  • Rugby’s Industry
  • Market
As the aim of this mural is to delight and inspire our young audience, designs should be graphic and embrace a spirit of playfulness.

There will be a restricted colour palette, and this can be developed in collaboration with the artist.

Deadlines

  • Deadline for submissions – 5pm, Friday 18th August
  • Response to all applicants – w/c 21th August
  • Painting – As needed from 25th-27th September*

*Unfortunately we are not able to be flexible with this timing as it is during the changeover of the Museum’s exhibition.

The budget for the project

The budget is up to the value of £1,000 to include planning, design, and installation. Materials will be provided.

The mural should be around 8 to 9 metres long and between 1m and 1.5 metres high.
