Join us for a fun-filled family celebration as Rugby Art Gallery and Museum turns 25!

Rugby Art Gallery and Museum is turning a big 25 years old and we’re throwing a Birthday Bash you won't want to miss. Join us on Saturday 21 June for awesome street art and parkour workshops that'll get your adrenaline pumping. Have your face painted and become a party animal.  Meet crazy scientists on… stilts!  Strike a pose in a fun photobooth.  Take home an artist’s portrait of yourself. Plus much more. A real day out for the whole family.

Science on stilts

11am to 3pm

Science on Stilts is a walkabout performance where real life scientists – who are also accomplished stiltwalkers – do simple science experiments with you. They’ll stop on their stilts to have scientific chats with anyone who has high ambitions to learn more about science. Our scientists on stilts elevate how atoms are made or why bubbles reflect colours to a new height – and huge fun.

Street art workshop

11 am to 3pm

Irregular Art will be running a street art workshop where participants will be asked help create large celebration pieces of stencilled art that will go on display in our community space later this year.

Parkour

Pop-Up Parkour with ascension dance brings the excitement of parkour, freerunning, and dynamic movement directly to local community parks and events across the region. Using a variety of purpose-built equipment and obstacles, it offers young people a unique opportunity to explore parkour’s captivating movement vocabulary - through jumps, vaults, rolls, and slides.

Combining structured workshops with supervised open play, Pop-Up Parkour is a free, inclusive activity that invites young people to challenge their physical abilities in a fun, high-energy environment. Whether climbing scaffolding structures or navigating creative vaulting setups, participants are not only building strength, coordination, and agility, but also developing problem-solving skills and confidence.

Pop-Up Parkour turns public spaces into movement playgrounds—sparking curiosity, creativity, and community through motion.
