Art Workshops

Draw, Draw, Draw KS 1-4
A two-hour workshop to explore the exhibition and improve your students’ drawing skills. Children will explore mark making, drawing characters, portraiture and much more in the language of art. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop basic techniques in a fun and creative environment led by our experienced staff.
Curriculum Links
- Students will produce creative work, exploring their ideas and recording their experiences.
- Practice in drawing, painting, sculpture and other art, craft and design techniques. (KS1-3)
- Helps to build knowledge about great artists, craft makers and designers, (KS1-2) and understand the historical and cultural development of their art forms. (KS3)
The Sketch Book Journey Workshop KS 1-4
For the Quentin Blake Book Covers Exhibition, we are also offering a storytelling and object handling tour of the exhibition, with play focussed tactile exploration which brings the illustrations of Quentin Blake to life. Supporting imagination, creativity, and self-expression, these sessions are especially tailored for Early Years Foundational Stage and SEND groups learners.
Curriculum Links
- Students will create sketch books to record their observations and use them to review and revisit ideas(KS1-2) and analyse and evaluate their own work, and that of others (KS3)
- Students will evaluate and analyse creative works using the language of art, craft and design (KS1-3)
- Students will identify differences and similarities between different artists (KS1-2) and periods, styles and major movements (KS3)
